Anima–Lotus TV Macau visited us!

<11-01-2018> Today, 7 people visited us, two of them were from Lotus TV Macau that came to our Dog Shelter, and they do an interview regarding the adoption and rescue of Macau greyhounds! Our Anima President Mr. Albano was interviewed! Thanks for your strong support! Pets are for life! More and more visitors come to Anima! In 2017, we had 9,251 visitors an increase of 23% as compared with 7,519 in 2016! 137 groups of schools, associations, companies and friends have visited us, an increase of 7%! We have been in 34 events organized by friends or by us! Anima–Campaign against Canidrome-The History!

<03-05-2017> Let’s remember some features of this huge fight still not over! Requested by Anima, British Roger Taylor (drums, vocal) from the Queen’s band has sent a letter to the Macau Chief Executive to ask for the closing of Canidrome! Canidrome will be closed up to the end of 2018! We all has win this first battle! However we can loose the second battle which is to save all of those animals that are suffering in Canidrome, if we are not capable to convince Canidrome and the Macau Government to help them, helping Anima or any other Macau Animal Welfare organization that wants to work with Anima for saving them all ! Let’s save all of them that are still in Canidrome. Canidrome may have around 600 greyhounds at this moment! Anima–February 1st, the day of the Galgo!

<01-02-2017> Today is the day of the Galgo! Canidrome will be closed up to the end of 2018! We all has win this first battle! However we can loose the second battle which is to save all of those animals that are suffering in Canidrome, if we are not capable to convince Canidrome and the Macau Government to help them, helping Anima or any other Macau Animal Welfare organization  that wants to work with Anima for saving them all ! Galgos are animals very similar to Greyhounds. They are even called as Spanish Greyhounds! So similar that the majority of  common people is incapable to distinguish them. Anima- Freedom for Greyhounds!

<24/25-09-2016> Anima has participated on 24 and 25th of September 2016, in the event, in Millan (Italy), “Freedom for the Greyhounds- Close the Canídrome and All Race Tracks Worldwide” an organization of our friends from Pet Levrieri (Onlus). The Conference counted with the intervention of Stefanie Traini (President of Pet Levrieri), Albano Martins (President of Anima), Aillen Ward and Trudy Baker (Greyt Exploitations UK), Marion Fitzgibbon (President of Limerick Animal Welfare from Ireland) and Michael James (Caged Northwest UK). Vídeos with messages of Christine Dorchak (President of Grey2k USA Worldwide) and Inês (Projecto Galgo Argentina) were passed as they could not attend the meeting. The conference about the situation of greyhounds in the world was followed by an adoption of 20 greyhounds that came from the shelters Limerick Animal Welfare (LAW), Erin Hounds Sighthound Rescue and Galway Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, that have collected them...

Anima – Donation from Birmingham Greyhound Protection!

Anima has received a donation of GBP 200 (equivalent to MOP 2,124.00) from Birmingham Greyhound Protection, a group of animal rights’ activists in Great Britain fighting for the protection of greyhounds against the cruelty of the tracks, where thousands of animals are killed every year. Birmingham Greyhound Protection is a closed group with 5,643 members and Anima was invited to be one of them! They had an auction where two pictures made by the local artist Caroline Hazell were sold. Birmingham Greyhound Protection will help us to re-home the greyhounds of Macau if Canidrome is willing to give them to us. Anima has requested the Macau Chief Executive and the Secretary for Economics and Financial Affairs to help us in this demand once the Canidrome is closed as we all in Macau and internationally expect! According to our Irish partners, confirmed by Hong Kong sources and Grey2k USA Worldwide, 24 new Irish greyhounds will arrive Macau this Friday 13th of May. Anima sources near the shipping companies confirm that the 24 Irish Greyhounds will arrive Macau (at bridge 27) between 17:00 to 17:30! The export of those animals is making a big mess in Ireland and is damaging the image of Macau as a friendly and international city of leisure and entertainment.
