Anima – Esc. Luso Chinesa Técnico-Profissional with us”!

Today 43 people visited us, 28 were from Escola Luso Chinesa Técnico-Profissional! More and more visitors come to Anima! Last year we have 5,511 visitors as compared with 5,032 visitors in 2013, an increase of around 9.5%! In 2015, up to the end of June, we had 2,972 visitors an increase of 6.3% as compared with 2,796 in the same period of 2014! 32 groups of schools, associations and companies have visited us! Anima – Statistics about Cats and Dogs

Anima has rescued in the period 189 animals, around 32 per month! Of those, 67 were de-sexed and the remaining is only waiting a recovery and the appropriate age. In the same period 78 animals were adopted. The huge death of animals is explained by the poor condition of them when arrived, or because they were already collected dead or by some diseases that sometimes happen in crowded shelters, even if we try our best to have a proper quarantine and hygiene. Anima adopts the policy of No-Kill and No-Cage, policies that limit our capacity to increase the number of rescues or oblige us to be more selective in our rescue operations! Last year we rescued 379 dogs and cats and we were able to make only 166 adoptions! Please understand, without adoptions we can not save more animals! SPP1427-Lindsay, a puppy living in a site, that was sick and Anima decided to help him from February 2, 2015 on, was fostered by Devonne on 26 June 2015. Devonne is an Anima Board Member! She decided now to adopt Lindsay! Thanks Devonne! Please help us to help them! C992-Leda and C993-Len were rescued by Anima after a call from Mr. Kou that delivered them to us. He had found these kittens around 1.5 months in his terrace at Rua Marginal do Canal das Hortas & Rua Dois da Cidade Nova de Toi San. Thanks Mr. Kou! Never abandon your pet! Anima has an adoption day outside Anima on the last Sunday of every month. Around 550 people had visited us in Flower City in Taipa. Anima was supported in this event by six volunteers and we took six of our dogs to the event. Anima – June Rescue (SPP1485-Hac Mui)

SPP1485-Hac Mui was recued by Anima after a call from the staff of a friendly association asking us to help Hac Mui. A lump was found hanging from her stomach. She was sent to a clinic immediately for surgery. SPP1485-Hac Mui is now under our Special Protection Program. She is not easy to handle! This is part of our Program (SPP)! Our space is limited. C988-Tisha and C989-Tobin were rescued by Anima after a call from Ms. Koo and Ms. Lee. They were afraid the cats will be poisoned. It is the sixth cat rescued in the area. Anima – June Rescue (1486-Milk Shake)

1486-Milk Shake was rescued by Anima after a call from Mr. Chui reporting that a Pomeranian puppy was found dying in the street at Ilha Verde. The puppy had no power to move. 1486-Milk Shake was sent immediately to a clinic by Anima. He was anemic and needs to stay overnight for treatment! Never abandon your pet! Anima – SPP1222-Nizie came back for treatment!

SPP1222-Nizie was rescued in April 8, 2014 and after a long period of recovery she was returned back to her place on January 28, 2015!
