Anima – April Rescue (C921-YaYa)

C921-YaYa was rescued by Anima after a call from Ms. Cheong, reporting that a cat was hit by a car in R. da Barca, two years ago. The cat had a surgery as her right fore leg was fractured and was already recovered. However, her 10 cats were not friendly to YaYa. In order to avoid any fight, she was keeping YaYa in a cage every day. She was de-sexed and vaccinated. Living in a cage is not a solution! So Anima decided to keep her. Many people rescue animals and put them in cages for life. Do you want to live protected in a prison for all your life? Freedom is a very important component of our life! Put an animal in a cage forever is cruelty! Please help us donating to ANIMA – Sociedade Protectora dos Animais de Macau to the following bank accounts: Banco Nacional Ultramarino, account number 9003472840 Bank of...

Anima – March Statistics about Cats and Dogs

Anima has rescued in the period 104 animals, around 10 per month! Of those, 30 were de-sexed and the remaining is only waiting a recovery and the appropriate age. In the same period 42 animals were adopted. The huge death of animals is explained by the poor condition of them when arrived, or because they were already collected dead or by some diseases that sometimes happen in crowded shelters, even if we try our best to have a proper quarantine and higiene. In March the number of deaths decreased substantially in what concern cats. Anima adopts the policy of No-Kill and No-Cage, policies that limit our capacity to increase the number of rescues or oblige us to be more selective in our rescue operations! Last year we rescued 379 dogs and cats and we were able to make only 166 adoptions! Please understand, without adoptions we can not save...

Lost or just abandoned in IFT?

This dog was found last Wednesday 8 April 2015, in Institute for Tourism Studies Campus at the 3rd floor according to Ms. Thea. They took the puppy to a nearby vet where he stayed until Friday evening while they tried to get him into a shelter or find a foster home. The vet shaved and washed and so on to remove the fleas. He is being treated for the skin infection, which is...
