Anima–September Rescue (SPP2240-Ah Wong)!

<20-09-2021> SPP2240-Ah Wong (M), around 13 years old, was under our Special Protection Program (SPP) since 9th March 2020. He was under Mr. O's responsibility in Templo de A-Ma (Barra). This morning, Anima was informed by Mr. O that SPP2240- Ah Wong is weakness and lethargy, also is not eating at all. SPP2240-Ah Wong was immediately sent to a clinic for consultation. Blood test results indicated that he has amenia. X-Ray Examination and Ultrasound results are normal. He was tested positive for Canine Ehrlichia (Tick Fever). According to the vet, he might also has an Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) as he is unable to stand or walk. SPP2240-Ah Wong will be hospitalized in the clinic for treatment. Thank you, Mr. O! Anima-September Sad News (706-Tommy)!

<15-09-2021> Our dog 706-Tommy, a senior dog of our shelter, has passed away today. 706-Tommy was sent to a clinic after being found lying on the ground breathing hard and panting. He had low body temperature, was dehydrated and kidney exam values were very high (SDMA). Tommy was put under IV fluid and had painkillers. Despite all medical efforts, he passed way. According to the vets, his cause of death was due to a head stroke coming from his chronic heart problem and in an advanced age there was nothing that could be done at right on that moment. Anima-September Sad News (158-Ace)!

<14-09-2021> 158-Ace, a senior dog of our shelter, has passed away today. He was sent to a clinic after having a seizure. His blood test results showed anaemia. X-ray and ultrasound exams were done, and both revealed a heart enlarge place which could cause other cardiac problems later. Also, his spleen had a mass. According to the vets, his cause of death was due to a tumour and in an advanced age there was nothing that could be done. We will remember him and all the love he gave to us during his lifetime. Anima–September Rescue (2400, 2401, 2402, 2403, 2404)!

<14-09-2021> Five puppies were rescued by Anima today! 2400-Max (M), 2401-Potter (M), 2402-Esme (F) and 2403-Florence (F), all around three months old and 2404-Snow (F), around four months old, were rescued on 14th September 2021. by Anima, after a call from IAM. They were diagnosed with Babesia (Tick Fever) and are now under treatment in our Dogs’ Shelter. Thank you, I.A.M., for your cooperation! Please help us to help them! Anima-September Sad News (2389-Hac Chai)!

<09-09-2021> 2389-Hac Chai (M), a 10-year-old dog, was rescued by Anima on 15th August 2021, after having been found by a member of our staff trapped in an open sewage channel in Coloane. Hac Chai was found very weak, and his ears were rotten with maggots. We were able to find the owner who reported that Hac Chai had been disappeared for five days. He needed urgent care and Anima agreed to support part of the vet bills, as the owner claimed to be unable to afford them. Hac Chai has been hospitalized in a clinic under treatment. Unfortunately, after being discharged, 2389-Hac Chai passed away. According to a vet, infection on the wound and other issues might had damage some neurons responsible for vital functions. Anima-September Rescue (C2621, C2622, C2623)!

<09-09-2021> Three siblings of C2620-Miley, named C2621-Matilda (F), C2622-Melina (F) and C2623-Mani (M), all around one month old, were rescued by Anima on 9th September 2021, after another call for help from Ms. Teresa. According to Ms. Teresa, the mother cat has been living near her building for a while and she frequently wandered on the high wall for a rest. C2368-Lazaro was rescued from the same area by Anima on 6th July 2020, C2555-Lollipop was rescued from the same place by Anima on 21st March 2021 and C2620-Miley, the last one, was rescued on 30th August 2021. Ms. Teresa also mentioned that the mother gets pregnant multiple times. We believed that the mother still needs to be neutered. Anima can help by providing sterilization for the mother afterwards and return her back to the former place. C2621-Matilda, C2622-Melina and C2623-Mani are now welcome to our Cat’s Paradise. Anima-September New SPP Dog (SPP2396-Bonnie)!

<03-09-2021> SPP2396-Bonnie (F), around 8 months old, is now under our Special Protection Program (SPP). She is under Mrs. So's responsibility in Hac Sa Site and Anima will support a spay surgery. Anima-August Rescue (C2620-Miley)!

<30-08-2021> C2620-Miley (F), around one month old, was rescued by Anima on 30th August 2021, after a call from Ms. Teresa reporting that a kitten had fallen from a high wall in her enclosure and wandered into her yard. The yard was surrounded by a high wall and a vacant school building is located on the back of the wall. According to Ms. Teresa, the mother cat has been living here for a while and she frequently wandered on the high wall for a rest. It was the fourth kitten that had fallen from her enclosure and two of them, C2368-Lazaro was rescued from the same area by Anima on 6th July 2020, C2555-Lollipop was rescued from the same place by Anima on 21st March 2021.
