Anima-November Sad News (151-Raji)!

<05-11-2020> 151-Raji (M), a senior dog of our shelter with around 15 years old, was suffering from a splenic tumour and kidney problems. A safe surgery would be, unfortunately, hard to accomplish at this point, due to his age and weak health condition. The chances of recovery after surgery are also very low. Following veterinary medical advice and consent given by several Anima board members, Raji was euthanized in a clinic, an effort to shorten his agony. R.I.P. our friend! Never Abandon your pets! Anima–November Adoption (C2359-Cici)!

<03-11-2020> Cici was adopted by Mr. Kwong, today! C2359-Cici (F), around four months old at the time, was rescued by Anima on 18th June 2020, after a Facebook message from Ms. Lei reporting that she found a kitten on R. de Sao Jose under heavy rain. She took the kitten to her home temporarily, but she was unable to take care of her for long term. Rescue team went there and picked up the kitten. C2359-Cici was welcome to our Cats’ Paradise! Today, Cici was adopted by Mr. Kwong! Thanks, Mr. Kwong! Please, Adopt and never buy! If you want us to help them, you must help us adopting or fostering! Never Abandon your pets! Anima–October Rescue (2309-Kimchi)!

<30-10-2020> 2309-Kimchi (F), around one year old, was rescued by Anima on 30th October 2020, after we received a call from Ms. Sophie reporting that she found a dog, 2309-Kimchi, lying on the grass area of the pedestrian road. Kimchi was inactive, breathing fast and unconscious near the roundabout of a Coloane’s car track. Ms. Sophie asked us help. Rescue Team went to the place and Kimchi was sent to a clinic immediately. During the trip, she had two strong seizures. X-ray and blood test in the clinic showed that everything is fine, but vets suspect she has neurological problem. 2309-Kimchi stays in the clinic under observation and medical care. Anima-October Sad News (290-Peluda)!

<28-10-2020> 290-Peluda (F), around 12 years and 10 months old, was found recently not able to move on her own and started to have difficulty breathing. She was consulted by our vet and received Oxygen Therapy Treatment for help her to breath. 290-Peluda was sent to a clinic for further examination. Blood Tests were performed, and the result revealed that she has anaemia and infections, a low blood platelet and low blood sugar (Hypoglycaemia). According to the vet, 290-Peluda has also heart murmur (abnormal sound) and pus in the nasal cavities. An echocardiogram was performed, and the result indicated her heart have degeneration due to old age. 290-Peluda was hospitalized in the clinic, under IV Fluids and medical care. On the next days, her health condition indeed deteriorated fast. Anima-October Sad News (391-Mammy)!

<27-10-2020> 391-Mammy (F), around 13 years old, was found lying on the floor barking and could not move today. There was vomited food around and her breath was difficult. She was immediately sent to a clinic. According to the vets, her heartbeat and blood sugar is normal and her current condition is not life-threatening. Doctors found her head cocking on the right side and suspected she might have otitis media which was causing her dizziness and difficulty in breathing. Blood test has been done and results showed a slight anemia, infection and pancreatitis. It was suggested to hospitalize 391-Mammy for at least three days. She was transferred to another clinic for a second opinion. Anima–October Rescue (C2420-Hiro)!

<27-10-2020> C2420-Hiro (M), around six weeks old, was rescued by Anima on 27 October 2020, after received a call from Ms. Wong reporting that she saw a kitten being chased by four dogs and hidden between the rocks on an abandoned site on Rua de Viseu, two days before. Rescue Team went there and found the kitten hidden in a hole on the slope at the site. C2420-Hiro was sent to a clinic to check his weak hind legs. According to the vet, X-ray results showed no fracture and Hiro was maybe limping due to a neuron problem. C2420-Hiro was welcome to our Cats’ Paradise with prescribed medication. Thanks, Ms. Wong!
