Anima in IAM initiative “Be a responsible owner”!

<27-06-2021> Today, Anima attended IAM initiative “Be a responsible owner – Take care of your pet forever". The event took place in Hac-Sa Park and around 40 people participated. Anima–New SPP Dog (SPP2377-Kururu)!

<27-06-2021> SPP2377-Kururu (M), a dog around two years old, is now under our Special Protection Program (SPP). Kururu is living under Mr. Cheong’s responsibility in a Ka-Ho Workshop. He suffers from severe conjunctivitis and was rescued by our team today and sent to a clinic. Kururu received treatment and was safely returned to his original site after being discharged from clinic. Thank you for your cooperation, Mr. Cheong! Never Abandon your pets! Anima-June Return (SPP2374-Queen)!

<27-06-2021> SPP2374-Queen (F), a dog around three years old, is under our Special Protection Program (SPP) since 18th June, 2021. She’s living in a Ka-Ho car shop under Mr. Ng’s responsibility. Queen is having some health issues and was rescued by our team and sent to a clinic on 19th june, 2021. She had severe anemia and a blood transfusion was needed. One of our dogs, 1607-Eerika, was brought to the clinic for blood donation. Queen also tested POSITIVE for Ehrlichia, Babesia Canis and Anaplasma. Today, Queen was discharged from clinic and safely returned to her usual site. Never Abandon your pets! Abandoning a pet should be a crime! Please help us to help them! Anima–June Rescue (C2591-Supreme)!

<26-06-2021> C2591-Supreme (M), a two-month-old kitten, was rescued by Anima on 24th June, 2021. Supreme was rescued following a call from Mrs. Lo reporting to have found the kitten in a cardboard box near Kun Iam Tong. The cat seemed to be walking abnormally and was sent to a clinic immediately. Happily, no fracture was detected, but he will remain hospitalized for close observation. Sai B is living under Ms. Chan’s responsibility in a construction Site at Povoação de Lai Chi Vun. Anima will support with a spay surgery in order to prevent her from getting pregnant. Anima-Civic Education Center of UGAMM visited us!

<26-06-2021> Today, we were visited by 51 people, of which 23 were from the Civic Education Center of UGAMM (General Union of Neighborhood Associations of Macau) on a visit to our Cats' Paradise. The group interacted cheerfully with our furry friends. Thank you for your visit! Education is the key issue for changing the cruelty environment against animals. Pets are for life! More and more visitors come to Anima! In 2020, we were visited by 10.495 people, compared with 7.487 visitors in 2019. Thank you for trusting us and supporting our work! Anima-June Rescue (C2589-Mollie)!

<24-06-2021> C2589-Mollie (F), around one year old, was rescued by Anima on 24th June 2021, after a call from Ms. Wong reporting that two cats were official abandoned by their owner who was admitted into a senior home half year ago. The cats have been wandering in the streets back then, where some neighbors and Ms. Wong started to feed them since April. Recently the cats have entered in an abandon building and could not come out. Ms. Wong asked us to help. Our Rescue team arrive to lend the cat trap and the lady showed the area where only a ginger female cat was living in. As the cat seems to have given birth to a litter recently, our rescue team informed Ms. Wong that we could not collect her yet, until the kittens can survive on their own. Anima–June Sad News (C2173-Micah)!

<22-06-2021> C2173-Micah (F), one of our cats from Cats’ Paradise, was found with sick and getting skinny in these last days. Yesterday, Micah had urinary incontinence and fell. She has been under treatment due to various issues including pancreatitis and recurring URI, with heavy nasal discharge. Even after a clinic consultation, where Micah was also diagnosed with abdominal ascites, there is not much that could be done to help her, except easy the pain. Unfortunately, and despite all medical efforts, she did not survive. Her body will be later delivered in IAM. R.I.P. our friend! Never Abandon your pets! Anima–June Sad News (1564-Laurel)!

<21-06-2021> 1564-Laurel (F), one of our old dogs, was found with ascites. She made a blood test and later an X-ray plus an ultrasound where it was visible two masses in her body. Intravenous fluids were needed as she suffers from renal disease. Laurel was under treatment, but unfortunately and despite all medical efforts, she did not survive. Her body will be delivered in IAM. R.I.P. our friend! Never Abandon your pets!
