Anima–May Rescue (C2356-Ponyo)!

<03-06-2020> C2356-Ponyo, called “Ball Chai”, around 3 years old was rescued by Anima on 3rd June 2020, after a call from Ms. Au reporting that a black and white cat had fallen from above and crawled into her shoe shop at Edf. Fong Iu on Rua do Lu Cao. The cat was walking in pain and had blood coming from the mouth. When rescue team arrived at the shop, another lady Ms. Chao was there saying she’s the owner of the cat. C2356-Ponyo is neither castrated or microchipped. He was given to her by a friend from China a few years ago. Ms. Chao lives on the 4th floor and didn’t install any window nets because usually C2356-Ponyo is caged. However, she let him out today for a walk and he escaped. As C2356-Ponyo was bleeding from the mouth, panting and Ms. Chao couldn’t bring him immediately to a clinic for treatment, Anima...

Anima–May Sad News (C2086-Albin)!

<02-05-2020> C2085-Viru (M), around one year old; C2086-Albin (M), around one year old; C2087-Rasa (F), around two years old; C2088-Careina (F), around four years old and C2089-Wintor (M), around two years old were all rescued by Anima on 19th February 2019, from IAM due to no space. On 29th May, C2086-Albin refused to eat and had watery diarrhea. He was tested positive on a Pancreatitis test. Later, he got a swollen jaw, lymph nodes. Clinic reported that Albin was very weak, with low body temperature upon arrival and dehydrated. He was immediately put under intensive medical care and would stay in clinic for treatment. Today, the vet informed that Albin passed away. R.I.P. my friend! Never Abandon your pets! Anima–May Return (SPP2276-Moana)!

<01-06-2020> SPP2276-Moana (F), around three years old, is under our Special Protection Program (SPP) since 25th May 2020, under Mr. Ip’s responsibility in Ka-Ho Workshop. SPP2276-Moana was scheduled for sterilization in a clinic, today. After blood test results before the surgery, she was diagnosed positive for Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichia Canis (Tick Fever). She was spayed in the clinic and medication was prescribed. SPP2276-Moana was returned to Ka-Ho Workshop after being neutered. Thanks, Mr. Ip! Please help us to help them! Anima–May Rescue (H055-H062)!

<01-06-2020> H055-Star Fruit (M), H056-MangoSteen (M), H057-JuJuBe (M), H058-Rambutan (M), H059-Physalis (M), H060-Sapodilla (M), H061-Guara (M), H062-Golden Apple (M), all around 3 months old, were rescued by Anima on 2nd June 2020, after received a message on Facebook by Mr. Hong, reporting that 8 hamsters were found abandoned in the park of Edf. Lok Kuan (Seac Pai Van) in a cage. He asked us to help. H055-Star Fruit, H056-MangoSteen, H057-JuJuBe, H058-Rambutan, H059-Physalis, H060-Sapodilla, H061-Guara, H062-Golden Apple were consulted in Anima. As they will start to fight with each other as soon as they have reach maturity, H055-Star Fruit, H056-MangoSteen, H057-JuJuBe, H058-Rambutan will be separated and kept in one group. Anima-June Adoption (C2322-Quin)!

<01-06-2020> Quin was adopted today by Ms. Ng! C2322-Quin (M), C2323-Quinta (F) and C2324-Queeny (F), all kittens around two weeks old, were rescued by ANIMA on 25th April 2020, after received a case referral from AniHelp – Oscar regarding that three kittens were found directly on the ground and under bushes by Mr. Lao at Jardim Luís de Camões. He asked us to help. They were very weak with hypothermia, eyes discharge and yellowish nose discharges. C2322-Quin, C2323-Quinta and C2324-Queeny were fostered by Zoe temporarily for milk feeding. Anima–May Sad News (217-Neve)!

<31-05-2020> 217-Neve was rescued by Anima and, as a pacient and relatively friendly dog, she has been our mascot for long time. On 14th May, 217-Neve showed struggle to stand and had vomited once on the same day. She was checked by our vet and she did a full blood test. Results showed that she has slightly anemia. Neve was then sent to an outside clinic for further examination. In the clinic she has been given subcutaneously fluids constantly and medicine for support kidney health as she was diagnosed with kidney failure since 29th September 2019 in another clinic. According to vet, the situation now is also joint problem (arthritis) due to old age. Her muscle on the rear legs has deteriorated. additional supplements were given for improved mobility and joint comfort with painkillers. Even though with laser therapy as a joint treatment, her kidneys would never be recovered and she was...

C2316-Lucka (F), around one month old by the time, was rescued by Anima on the 15th April 2020, after a call from Mr. Li reporting that a small kitten was found alone on the construction site opposite to Mercado Municipal de S. Anima–May Sad News (C1799-Woolf)!

<29-05-2020> C1796-Bronte (F), C1797-Austin (F), C1798-Dickinson (M) and C1799-Woolf (M), were rescued by Anima on 7th December 2017, after a call from IACM reporting that they don’t have enough space for the cats. They were all neutered by IACM and stayed in our Cats’ Paradise. Recently, C1799-Woolf vomits and he was drooling a white foam. He was sent to a clinic. Anima-May Adoption (SPPC2342, SPPC2343)!

<29-05-2020> Calvin and Colleen were adopted today by Mr. Tash! SPPC2341-Calie (M), SPPC2342-Calvin (M), SPPC2343-Colleen (F) and SPPC2344-Cyris (M), all around  one and a half months old, became under our Special Protection Program (SPP) since 20th May 2020. The four kittens were rescued by Anima, after receive messages from Ms. Carla reporting that in her work place, Calçada da Igreja de São Lázaro, there was a family of a mother cat with four kittens. Ms. Carla notice that one kitten had an eye blowing out of his face while the other kittens had severe eye problem maybe due to herpesvirus. Anima borrow two cat traps and Ms. Carla manage to capture all kittens. They were sent to a clinic for consultation. SPPC2341-Calie needed a surgery while the siblings were under medical care.
