C1087-Tanner was rescued by Anima after a call from Ms. Ho  reporting that he was hit by a car near Iao Hon Market. Our rescue team went to the site and confirmed he was dead. Anima – December Temporary Accommodation (1602-Ah Duo)!

1602-Ah Duo was accommodated in Anima for 45 days, as an emergency, by our member Ms. Leong. This is only accepted in extreme emergency situations as the maximum time allowed is 15 days! This program is mainly available to members and adopters at special rates. For dogs, 50 patacas per day and for cats 30 patacas per day. In case of members, the membership fees must be update and fully paid for all the year (MOP 360). Non members or non adopters may exceptionally apply for this facility paying double, if we have space. Priority is always given to members and adopters! Who has adopted one animal from Anima do not pay any accommodation fee in the first year of adoption provided the period of accommodation does not exceed 15 days! Anima visited by Sheng Kung Hui Secondary School!

Please see the Christmas Card of these kids! Today 29 people visited us, with 14 students from Sheng Kung Hui Secondary School. More and more visitors come to Anima! Last year we have 5,511 visitors as compared with 5,032 visitors in 2013, an increase of around 9.5%! In 2015, up to the end of November, we had 5,318 visitors an increase of 5.1% as compared with 5,059 in the same period of 2014! 57 groups of schools, associations and companies have visited us! Anima – Statistics about Cats and Dogs (Jan-Nov 2015)!

Anima has rescued in the period 364 animals, around 33 per month or one per day! Of those, 174 were de-sexed and the remaining is only waiting a recovery and the appropriate age. In the same period 165 animals were adopted. The huge death of animals is explained by the poor condition of them when arrived, or because they were already collected dead or by some diseases that sometimes happen in crowded shelters, even if we try our best to have a proper quarantine and hygiene. That is one of the reasons why Anima considers adoption a master issue! Anima adopts the policy of No-Kill and No-Cage, policies that limit our capacity to increase the number of rescues or oblige us to be more selective in our rescue operations! Last year we rescued 379 dogs and cats and we were able to make only 166 adoptions! Please understand, without adoptions...
