Anima-October Sad News (290-Peluda)!

<28-10-2020> 290-Peluda (F), around 12 years and 10 months old, was found recently not able to move on her own and started to have difficulty breathing. She was consulted by our vet and received Oxygen Therapy Treatment for help her to breath. 290-Peluda was sent to a clinic for further examination. Blood Tests were performed, and the result revealed that she has anaemia and infections, a low blood platelet and low blood sugar (Hypoglycaemia). According to the vet, 290-Peluda has also heart murmur (abnormal sound) and pus in the nasal cavities. An echocardiogram was performed, and the result indicated her heart have degeneration due to old age. 290-Peluda was hospitalized in the clinic, under IV Fluids and medical care. On the next days, her health condition indeed deteriorated fast. Following veterinary medical advice and consent given by several Anima board members, 290-Peluda was euthanized today, an effort to shorten her agony. R.I.P. our dear...

Anima–October Adoptions (H055 and H056)!

<28-10-2020> StarFruit and MangoSteen were adopted by Mr. Hou, today! H055-Star Fruit (M), H056-MangoSteen (M), H057-JuJuBe (M), H058-Rambutan (M), H059-Physalis (M), H060-Sapodilla (M), H061-Guara (M), H062-Golden Apple (M), all around 3 months old by the time, were rescued by Anima on 2nd June 2020, after received a message on Facebook by Mr. Hong, reporting that 8 hamsters were found abandoned in the park of Edf. Lok Kuan (Seac Pai Van) in a cage. He asked us to help. All of them have been in our Dogs’ Shelter. Star Fruit and MangoSteen were adopted by Mr. Hou, today! Thanks, Mr. Hou! Anima-October Sad News (391-Mammy)!

<27-10-2020> 391-Mammy (F), almost 14 years old, was a senior resident of our shelter. Earlier this month, Mammy was found lying on the floor barking, unable to move, and taken to a clinic. She stayed hospitalized and a surgery was performed with success. On the following days, Mammy started eating on her own and was occasionally able to sit down. Unfortunately, we were informed by the clinic that she was found dead this morning. R.I.P. our old friend! Never Abandon your pets! Anima–October Rescue (C2420-Hiro)!

<27-10-2020> C2420-Hiro (M), around six weeks old, was rescued by Anima on 27 October 2020, after received a call from Ms. Wong reporting that she saw a kitten being chased by four dogs and hidden between the rocks on an abandoned site on Rua de Viseu, two days before. Rescue Team went there and found the kitten hidden in a hole on the slope at the site. C2420-Hiro was sent to a clinic to check his weak hind legs. According to the vet, X-ray results showed no fracture and Hiro was maybe limping due to a neuron problem. C2420-Hiro was welcome to our Cats’ Paradise with prescribed medication. Thanks, Ms. Wong! <27-10-2020> B175-Alti, an adult dove, was rescued by Anima on 27 October 2020, after our rescue team passed by Barbecue Park near Estr. do Altinho de Ka Ho during their daily feeding activities and saw the dead body of B175- Alti on the floor. Anima-October Sad News (C2315-Titan)!

<24-10-2020> C2315-Titan (M), around two years old, was rescued by Anima on the 20th March 2020, following a call from I.A.M. (Macau Kennel) asking for our help since they were overcrowded and without space for new cats. Titan was then rescued and welcomed at our Cats’ Paradise. A few months later, however, he revealed some signs of health issues and was sent to a clinic earlier this month where he was tested positive for FCoV and diagnosed with a high chance of having FIP. His health condition indeed deteriorated fast and, following veterinary medical advice and consent given by several Anima board members, Titan was euthanized today, in an effort to shorten his agony.
