September Rescue and Adoption (1523-Tong Tong)!

1523-Tong Tong was rescued by Anima and immediately adopted by Michele. Tong Tong is seven years old male and was delivered to Anima by a mother of a pregnant lady telling she had an allergy and was pregnant. We have already informed people that keeping dogs or cats at home do not have any bad interference with any pregnancy! This is a stupid excuse that people with a minimum education should not use to abandon his pets! Anima usually does not accept these justifications. However, when we think the animals are easily adoptable we decide to receive them. Tong Tong had no license but was de-sexed. The former owner had no information about the dog as, according to her, he was adopted from a car shop one year ago. Thanks Michele!     Never abandon your pet! Abandoning a pet should be a crime! Please help us donating to ANIMA – Sociedade Protectora dos Animais de Macau to...

News, Statistics regarding animals

Anima – August Statistics about Cats and Dogs!

Anima has rescued in the period 247 animals, around 31 per month or one per day! Of those, 112 were de-sexed and the remaining is only waiting a recovery and the appropriate age. In the same period 102 animals were adopted. The huge death of animals is explained by the poor condition of them when arrived, or because they were already collected dead or by some diseases that sometimes happen in crowded shelters, even if we try our best to have a proper quarantine and hygiene. Anima adopts the policy of No-Kill and No-Cage, policies that limit our capacity to increase the number of rescues or oblige us to be more selective in our rescue operations! Last year we rescued 379 dogs and cats and we were able to make only 166 adoptions! Please understand, without adoptions we can not save more animals! Please be part of the solution, not part of...

Contamos consigo! Anima [gallery ids="18968,18966,18964,18978,18976,18962,18960,18958,18954,18952,18950,18948,18946,18940,18942,18944"]...

Candlelight Vigil for Closing the Canidrome!

Dear friend, Please Help us to Close the Canidrome! Did you know that every dog that is brought here to race is doomed to die? That's right, several hundred greyhounds are imported from Australia every year to be used and abused at the Canidrome racetrack each year and not one of them gets out alive. Thankfully, we now have an extraordinary opportunity to shut down the worst dog track in the world. But we need your help to do it! Please help us to help them! Participate in our Candlelight Vigil on September 30th from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm across the road from the Macau Government Palace (on the side of Nam Van Lakes). Show that you respect the rights of all animals! This is a peaceful, silent and non political event showing our pain for so many young and healthy animals that are being killed in an average of one...
