Anima–May Sad News (699-Lady)!

<02-05-2021> Sadly, our dog 699-Lady has passed away today. Lady was 13 years old and in our shelter since 2011. A particularly friendly, sociable and loveable dog, Lady was a favourite among our visitors and a common presence at our events. Last month, her health condition started to deteriorate. She was taken to a private clinic for consultation several times. Eventually, she ended up staying hospitalized, as she was suffering from Kidney Failure. Unfortunately, she passed away in the clinic today. R.I.P. our friend! Never Abandon your pets! Anima–May Sad News (C2448-Sydney)!

<02-05-2021> Our cat Sydney has passed away today. C2448-Sydney (M), around one year old by the time, was rescued by Anima on 18th December 2020 from IAM, as they reported to have run out of space. He was then welcomed into our Cats’ Paradise. A few weeks ago, Sydney was found skinny, lethargic and taken to a clinic for consultation. He was suffering with abnormal abdominal fluids and was tested positive for PCR FCoV. There were also suspicions that he was infected with FIP. Despite all medical care, his health condition continued to deteriorate. Following veterinary medical advice and consent given by several Anima board members, Sydney was euthanized in a clinic in an effort to shorten his agony. R.I.P. our friend! Never Abandon your pets! Anima–April Sad News (C214-BiBi)!

<30-04-2021> C214-BiBi (F), previously adopted by Mr. Albano, was sent to a clinic on 27th April 2021, after a call from himself reporting that she was not eating. Multiple exams were made, and results showed acute kidney failure and Hyperkalemia (High Blood Potassium). According to the doctor, she might die without treatment. C214-BiBi was hospitalized in the clinic, under fluids and injections. Unfortunately, despite all medical efforts, she did not survive and her body will be delivered in IAM for cremation. Anima–April Sad News (C2577-Ion)!

<28-04-2021> C2577-Ion (F), around six months old, was rescued by Anima on 26th April 2021, after a call from a person reporting that he found a cat bleeding from her mouth, all wet, sitting up and not moving on Rua de Kun Iam Tong. Our president, Ms. Zoe, went to site immediately and sent the cat to a clinic. C2577-Ion has severe oral problem, and she have been bleeding for a while. X-ray scan showed no fractures. Blood test results showed also that she has renal failure. She was hospitalized in the vet clinic for treatment. Despite all medical efforts, C2577-Ion passed away today! R.I.P. our friend! Anima–April Sad News (C2575-Kiki)!

<27-04-2021> C2575-Kiki (F), around four years old, was rescued by Anima on 20th April 2021, after a call from Ms. Lu reporting that she found a very weak cat lying next to the bus stop on Rua do Campo. Rescue team went to the site immediately and sent the cat to a clinic. Kiki was full of eyes discharge and not very active. According to the vet, she has a lot of fleas and malnutrition. Blood test results showed severe anemia and she has renal failure. C2575-Kiki have been hospitalized in the vet clinic for treatment. Unfortunately, despite all medical efforts, she did not survive and her body will be delivered in IAM. R.I.P. our friend! Never Abandon your pets! <24-04-2021> Our turtle T012-ARTM1 has passed away today. She was found inactive in our pond a few days ago and hospitalized in a clinic for treatment. Anima–April Sad News (C2250-Nora)!

<24-04-2021> C2250-Nora (F), around two years old by the time, was rescued by Anima on the 11th December 2019, after a call reporting that several cats were being attacked by dogs in Penha Hill. Nora was rescued pregnant and gave birth to three kittens. Since then, she stayed at our Cats’ Paradise. A couple months ago, Nora started experiencing difficulties breathing, having diarrhea and losing her appetite. She was taken to a private clinic, where she tested positive for FCoV and FIV. There were also suspicions that she was infected with FIP. Despite all medical care, her health condition continued to deteriorate. Following veterinary medical advice and consent given by several Anima board members, Nora was euthanized in the clinic in an effort to shorten her agony. R.I.P. our friend! Never Abandon your pets! Anima–April Sad News (B208-Small)!

<14-04-2021> B208-Small, a baby bird, was rescued by Anima on 13th April 2021, after receiving a call from Ms. Hong reporting that there is a small bird, B208-Small all wet and not moving between the ally of Edf. Jardim Hoi Wan, Taipa. Ms. Hong also mentioned that before the bird, there were some students throwing something over that area and later, after they left, she saw the little bird. Our rescue team sent B2087-Small to a clinic for consultation. B208-Small will stay in the clinic under medical care until being able to fly again. Anima–April Sad News (C2573-Hero)!

<12-04-2021> C2573-Hero (M), around three years old, was rescued by Anima on 12th April 2021, after a call from an individual volunteer, Ms. Fong, reporting that C2573-Hero was found in an abandoned house at Calçada da Igreja de São Lázaro and was not able to move at all. He was immediately sent to a clinic for consultation. X-ray results showed that he has a rupture inside his body and an internal hemorrhaging of fluids in his abdomen. Hero also lost his capacity of controlling other vital organs. It was also considered the hypothesis to euthanize him to end the pain. Anima–April Sad News (C1817-Shan)!

<12-04-2021> C1817-Shan (M), around five months old by the time, was rescued by Anima on 3rd January 2018, after a call from Mr. Tam reporting that a cat was trying to crawl into his storeroom and the cat seems sick or injured. C1817-Shan was sent to a clinic as he could not move his legs. X-ray did not show any fracture. The vet suspected that C1817-Shan fell from a building and hurt the nerves. He was in the clinic until recover and be welcome to our Cats’ Paradise. Recently, C1817-Shan got sick, and he was refusing to eat. He was sent to the clinic. According with the vet, he might have liver and kidney problems. Symptoms and health exams’ results showed higher suffering. It was also considered the hypothesis to euthanize him to end the pain.
