Anima–February 1st, the day of the Galgo!

<01-02-2017> Today is the day of the Galgo! Canidrome will be closed up to the end of 2018! We all has win this first battle! However we can loose the second battle which is to save all of those animals that are suffering in Canidrome, if we are not capable to convince Canidrome and the Macau Government to help them, helping Anima or any other Macau Animal Welfare organization  that wants to work with Anima for saving them all ! Galgos are animals very similar to Greyhounds. They are even called as Spanish Greyhounds! So similar that the majority of  common people is incapable to distinguish them. So similar that even in Portuguese grammar Galgo is the translation of greyhound! Really few people is capable to distinguish them! Let’s extend this day to all Greyhounds! Anima–February Adoption (C1288-Prissy)!

<01-02-2017> Prissy was adopted by Mr. Rashid on 1st February 2017! C1288-Prissy (F) and C1289-Funny (F), were rescued by Anima on 23rd September 2016, when they were few days old, after a call from Mr. Kuok reporting that two kittens were found in Praça de Ponte e Horta the night before. He took care of them for a night and asked our help. Prissy and Funny were collected to Anima. They were fostered temporarily by our supervisor Zoe as they needed milk feeding. Rescue and New Cat Under SPP (SPPC1412, SPPC1413)!

<01-02-2017> SPPC1412-Arthur (M) and SPPC1413-Lancelot (M), both with an estimated age of four years old, now under our Special Protection Program, were rescued by Anima, through Michele, on 1st February 2017, somewhere in Taipa. They were dewormed and castrated by our vet today and were returned to their former place after the medication was prescribed. Michele is responsible for them in that area. Thanks Michele! Anima – January Rescue (SPP1822-Ebony)!

<31-01-2017> SPP1822-Ebony (F), was under our Special Protection Program (SPP) since 2nd December 2016, when she was around seven months old, after a call from our board member, Ms. Gina, reporting that her colleague, Ms. Rosa, found a skinny dog alone in a site of Macau. The people who used to work in the site has moved out and there was no food for Ebony. We failed to catch Ebony as she was scared of people. Ms. Rosa kept feeding her and helped us to catch her. Ebony was caught today and checked by our vet. She has skin lesions on her hind legs, tail and hip. She is staying with us under medication now. Thanks Ms. Gina and Ms. Rosa! Anima-New Dogs under SPP (SPP1840, SPP1841)!

<26-01-2017> SPP1840-Jock (M) and SPP1841-Key (F), both with an estimated age of two years old, are now under our Special Protection Program (SPP) since 26th January 2017, after a call from Ms. Gina, our board member, reporting that she found two dogs in a place of Taipa and no one was taking care of them. Anima-Temporary Accommodation (1534-Sibala)!

<26-01-2017> 1534-Sibala (M), was rescued by Anima on 27th September 2015, with an estimated age of five years old, after a call from Mr. Lung reporting that he couldn’t take care of his dog anymore as his daughter just had a new born baby . Happily the family changed its mind and collected him back on 10th October 2015. Now he came back for a temporary accommodation up to 2nd February 2017! If you adopt an animal from us you have the privilege to leave your animal in Anima during 15 days free of charge during the first year of adoption, provided we have space. Never abandon your pet! Anima–January Adoption (1502-Saskia)!

<26-01-2017> Saskia was adopted by Mr. Ip on 26th January 2017! See Saskia when was rescued and now! 1502-Saskia (F), now with an estimated age of six years old, was rescued by Anima on 21st July 2015, after a call from Ms. Zheng reporting that a dog was found limping in Rua do Visconde Paço de Arcos (Near Bridge 16). Saskia had difficulties to move. 1502-Saskia was sent to a clinic immediately for an X-Rays. The result showed she had not a fracture but a hernia. She would stay with us forever unless adopted as she was not in condition to be released! Saskia was adopted on 16th December 2016. However, she was returned on 19th December 2016 as the adopter said his daughter has an allergy. Today she was adopted again! Thanks Mr. Ip! Please Adopt and never Buy! Anima–January Rescue (C1403, C1404)!

<26-01-2017> C1403-Penguin (M) and C1404-Tigger (F), both with an estimated age of 1.5 months old, were rescued by Anima on 26th January 2017, after a call from Ms. Ao reporting that she found two kittens near Mercado de S. Lourenço on 24th January. Penguin and Tigger were sent to a clinic by Ms. Ao for general check-up. They stayed in the clinic for cleaning up as they had a flea infection and earmites. Anima–January Rescue (C1400, C1401)!

<25-01-2017> C1400-Korsak (M), with an estimated age of five months old, together with C1401-Kitman (F), with an estimated age of two years old, were rescued by Anima on 25th January 2017, after a call from Ms. Peng reporting that her neighbor passed away and left some cats and no one was taking care of them. There was a hole in the door of the flat and the cats were coming out  searching for food. Ms. Peng and the neighbors set up a trap to catch them. C1386-Tebbie was caught on 18th January, C1399-Scottie was caught on 23rd January and both are already with us. The last two cats, Korsak and Kitman, were caught today. They were checked by our vet and dewormed. Kitman seems already pregnant! They are in quarantine in our Cat’s Paradise now. Thanks Ms. Peng and neighbors! Please help us to help them! Anima–January Adoption (C1374-Caramel II)!

<22-01-2017> Caramel II was adopted by Ms. Filipa on 22nd January 2017! C1374-Caramel II (M), was rescued by Anima on 3rd January 2017, with an estimated age of five years old, after a call from Ms. Filipa reporting that she rescued a cat 1.5 years ago in Cheoc Van but  Caramel II has been wild and aggressive. She reported that he destroyed everything in her house and attacked her young daughter. He was castrated but according to her it couldn’t help to improve his behavior.
